My name is Shkurte, the owner and Hertfordshire based photographer behind SGD Photography. I specialise in family portraits and landscape photography, nevertheless, over the years I have dabbled in glamour and weddings when requested.
With all my work the aim is to capture the love and document beautiful family moments, in addition to photographing breath-taking locations. Photography has always been a passion of mine; the love, the emotions and the sense of fun and wonder that an image can evoke. I feel hugely privileged to be able to take one of my passions and turn it into a career that I have enjoyed for all these years.
History
I was always interested in photography and worked in a photo developing shop for some time when I was a lot younger. During this time I learned a lot about the process and spent many hours with the resident photographer. At the age of 18, I started to take photography more seriously but soon realised the equipment I desired was out of my budget. As such, I just started by using an old Sony DSC-W800 and built continued to work until I could afford the equipment I required. These days I mainly work with the Nikon D7500 – I love this camera and the way it captures photos in all settings.
Why Photography? It’s my passion – Creating simple, elegant and timeless portraits. I believe images should be displayed and shared, not put away in the kitchen drawer to print another day! I love nothing more than capturing a families story and transforming it into a beautiful piece of wall art or a fine art album that will provide joy to their family for generations to come.
